Who is a good candidate for endometrial ablation?
Women with heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding who have not found relief with medication may be candidates for endometrial ablation. The procedure is generally recommended for women who do not plan to become pregnant in the future. Your provider will determine if it’s the right option after evaluating your symptoms and medical history.
How long does it take to recover?
Most patients return home the same day as the procedure. Mild cramping, watery discharge, or light spotting are common for a few days afterward, and many women are able to resume normal activities within a day or two, depending on their provider’s recommendations.
Will my periods stop after endometrial ablation?
Results vary from person to person. Many women experience significantly lighter periods, while some stop having menstrual bleeding altogether. Your provider will discuss the expected outcomes based on your age, medical history, and the cause of your heavy bleeding.
